Spectators are invited to attend the Wrangler Buck Brannaman Pro-Am Vaquero Roping without charge. There will be some of the world’s finest horsemen and Vaquero-style ropers participating in the event for you to watch.
The competition starts at 8:00AM on Friday and Saturday and will run throughout both days. The top scoring thirty teams will compete in the finals starting Sunday morning at 9:00AM. At the completion of the final round, the top eight teams will be awarded price money. After the awards, we will have an exhibition/Calcutta with the professional ropers in attendance. All three days will be full of competition and great roping action.
In addition to the roping there will be some superb vendors on site that will feature handcrafted gear, apparel and art.

The address is 195 North Refugio Road in Santa Ynez. There will be signs directing you to the center. Staying near the facility is easy as there are many fine hotels and motels in the Solvang, Santa Ynez and Buellton townships. The Santa Ynez Valley Equestrian Center has limited bleacher seating so bring a chair for best personal viewing. We rope rain or shine so please bring your own weather protection, etc. Breakfast and lunch will be provided by Billy and Sue Ruiz’s Cowboy Flavor – landmark catering and cowboy hospitality on the Central Coast. Bring an appetite for what our area is famous for in Santa Maria style barbeque.
There will be no dogs leashed or unleashed near the arenas due to the precise work with cattle.Please leave your dogs at home.
